CROATIA-based packaging manufacturer EcoCortec says it recently fulfilled a challenging order by a German global engineering and electronics company for ESD dissipative bags.
The client had ordered static dissipative bags from another European competitor, but the vapour corrosion inhibiting (VPI) film produced by the competitor failed standard ESD testing upon arrival at the client’s premises. The customer rejected the lot of film upon receiving and testing for ESD properties.
The client then turned to EcoCortec for the supply of its EcoSonic VpCI-125 Static Dissipative Bags, with tight delivery schedules. According to EcoCortec, it manufactured the required bags in record time, and tested them for ESD and anti-corrosion properties before shipping them along with the test certificates.
EcoCortec says its plant is the only VCI film producer in Europe that has a fully equipped ESD laboratory on its premises.
The VpCI-125 Static Dissipative Film and Bags are multifunctional and recyclable. The bags both prevent corrosion and ESD damage, and combine effective multimetal corrosion protection with strong static dissipative properties.
The heat sealable film and bags are completely non-toxic and do not contain free amines, phosphates, silicones, or other harmful materials. They effectively protect components from electrostatic discharge, and replace conventional preventatives such as oils and desiccants, allowing the product to be used immediately without cleaning or degreasing.
EcoSonic VpCI-125 Static Dissipative Film and Bags conform to ASTM: D882-02, D1922-06a, D1709-04 as well as to the surface resistivity and static decay requirements of MIL-PRF-81705D (Static Dissipative Packaging Materials).
